It’s Christmas in July around here as we look back at Becca and Michael’s festive St Louis winter wedding at Union Station Hotel! It was the perfect blend of timeless elegance, festive holiday charm, and vibrant personality. Filled with pops of pink, romantic candlelight, and thoughtful details, this December celebration proved that holiday weddings can be both classic and completely unique.
From a stunning ceremony at Cathedral Basilica to a sparkling reception at Union Station Hotel, every moment of this day felt joyful, warm, and incredibly personal.

Planning a wedding during the busiest season of the year is no small feat, especially when balancing demanding schedules. But Becca and Michael never lost sight of what mattered most: creating a celebration that felt like them.
While many winter weddings lean heavily into traditional holiday colors, these two put their own spin on the season. Pink and bows were at the heart of their wedding vision, and together we found both bold and subtle ways to incorporate those elements throughout the day.
The result was a wedding that felt festive without being overly themed, elegant without feeling formal, and completely reflective of the couple’s style.

The day began with a beautiful ceremony at Cathedral Basilica, one of St. Louis’ most iconic churches. As guests gathered beneath the breathtaking architecture and intricate mosaics, there was an undeniable sense of anticipation for what was to come.
Outside, the December air was chilly, but inside, the atmosphere was filled with warmth, excitement, and love. Becca and Michael exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends before making their way to celebrate with guests at one of St. Louis’ most beloved wedding venues.

When guests arrived at Union Station Hotel, they were welcomed into a reception space that perfectly balanced classic wedding style with playful personality.
The color palette centered around black, white, and pink—Becca’s favorite color. The wedding party reflected the design beautifully, with the gentlemen wearing classic black tuxes while the bridesmaids wore stunning hot pink satin gowns that added energy and color throughout the day.
One of my favorite design elements was the use of pink taper candles throughout the reception. It was such a simple yet impactful way to introduce color while maintaining the elevated, romantic atmosphere the couple envisioned.
As part of the planning process, I worked closely with Becca on the overall tablescape design, linen selections, and stationery details. Together, we collaborated on custom invitations through Minted that helped establish the wedding aesthetic from the moment guests opened their envelopes.

One of my favorite memories from the day happened just before the reception began.
After months of planning, design meetings, and countless decisions, Becca and Michael stepped into the reception room for the very first time.
Watching their faces as they took in every detail—the linens, florals, candles, bows, and beautifully transformed space—was incredibly special. Seeing a couple’s vision come to life is always rewarding, but moments like that are why I love what I do.

The reception was full of festive energy and meaningful moments. Guests enjoyed an incredible evening complete with beautiful florals by Roses + Mint, a stunning cake from Sarah’s Cake Shop, cigars rolled by Weston Tobacco, and music that kept the dance floor full thanks to Crucial Entertainment.
Even their beloved pups were included in the celebration through Paw My Love, ensuring every member of the family was represented on such an important day.
The entire evening felt warm, sparkly, and joyful—exactly what a December wedding should be.

One of the greatest compliments I can receive as a planner is knowing my couples were able to fully enjoy their wedding day.
As Becca shared afterward:
“I actually think I had FUN planning the wedding of my dreams… Her calm demeanor in every situation makes for the most hands-free and stress-free wedding day. She took my vision and made it reality.”
Helping couples experience their wedding day without stress is always my goal, and it was such an honor to do that for Becca and Michael.
Their Union Station Hotel wedding was festive, joyful, colorful, and full of heart—a perfect celebration for an incredible couple.
